WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

WILL YOU MAKE ME CLUCK LIKE A CHICKEN?

Most people have very strange ideas about what Hypnosis really is.

Even when they hear the word HYPNOSIS, they picture that mysterious hypnotist popularized in movies, comic books and TV. The strange man that waves his pocket watch back and forth, guiding his subject into a zombie-like state.

Once hypnotized, the subject is compelled to obey, and may start clucking like a chicken at the hypnotist's request.

This popular representation bears little resemblance to actual hypnotism, of course. In fact, modern understanding of hypnosis contradicts this conception on several key points:
*Subjects in a hypnotic trance cannot be made to do anything, they have absolute free will.
*They're not in an unconscious state either -- they're actually hyper-attentive.

Hypnosis
        is a very natural state.

We all go into a state of Hypnosis many times throughout the day: when we are caught up in a movie, or a good book, when we daydream or just space out a little. At this point our brain waves go into a nice Alpha -Theta rhythm, as we become relaxed yet focused.  This is a HYPNOTIC STATE.

As you drift off to sleep, between that fully alert state and a deep deep sleep, you enter a natural state of Hypnosis.  This is the perfect time to fill your mind with healthy, positive thoughts, ideas and problem solving techniques.

Using proven NLP techniques The Let-Me-SLEEP-On-It  Programs will guide you through this vital time when you are the most receiptive to Positive Changes.

Hypnosis is a trance state characterized by extreme suggestibility, relaxation and heightened imagination. The subjects mind is alert the whole time. This state is most often compared to daydreaming, or the feeling of "losing yourself" in a book or movie. You maybe fully conscious, but you tune out most of the stimuli around you. You focus intently on the subject at hand, to the near exclusion of any other thought.

Researchers have also studied patterns in the brain's cerebral cortex that occur during hypnosis. In these studies, hypnotic subjects showed reduced activity in the left hemisphere of the cerebral cortex, while activity in the right hemisphere often increased. Neurologists believe that the left hemisphere of the cortex is the logical control center of the brain; it operates on deduction, reasoning and convention. The right hemisphere,   in contrast, controls imagination and creativity. A decrease in left-hemisphere
activity fits with the belief that hypnosis subdues the conscious mind's  inhibitory influence. Conversely, an increase in right-brain activity supports the idea that the creative, impulsive subconscious mind takes the reigns. This lend credence to the idea that hypnotism opens up the subconscious mind.

The Mayo Clinic says:

“Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion,
is analtered state of consciousness.
This state of consciousness is usually achieved with the help of a hypnotherapist
and is different from your everyday awareness.
When you're under hypnosis:
Your attention is more focused
You're more responsive to suggestions
You're more open and less critical or disbelieving
The purpose of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique is to help you gain
more control over your behavior, emotions or physical well-being.
It's not clear how hypnosis works. However, it appears to affect how your
brain communicates with your body through nerve impulses, hormones and
body chemicals, such as neuropeptides.

Hypnotherapists say that hypnosis creates a state of deep relaxation and
quiets the mind. When you're hypnotized, you can concentrate intensely
on a specific thought, memory, feeling or sensation while blocking out
distractions. You're more open than usual to suggestions, and this can be
used to change your behavior and thereby improve your health and well-being.”

Let me Sleep on it…
makes the most of the time when our mind goes easily and naturally into those gentle Alpha – Theta states
....every night as we fall asleep.

This is the ideal time to expose our minds to positive and creative thoughts and ideas.

By working through problem solving techniques and promoting positive images and expectations the subconscious mind is being naturally programmed to be drawn to these outcomes.
